It's September now. While the rest of the world celebrates the early return of the pumpkin spice latte, Central Texas still mostly resembles the surface of the sun, temperature-wise.
September marks the beginning of the third trimester. Sometimes I feel like I've been pregnant for about .5 seconds and other times I can't remember what it's like to have a waist, or to be able to just get out of bed without first going over my strategy for getting out of bed. The calendar reminds me that yes, in a few short months, I'll be able to sleep on my back again. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to our scheduled ultrasound next week, with a little apprehension. I can't wait to see how our little guy is developing, but crossing my fingers that the location of the placenta doesn't mean a change in our plan to deliver at the birth center.
Regardless of how he comes into the world, it's time to start getting the house ready. I'll be attending a baby and children's consignment event this afternoon, and my in-laws are hosting a shower for us at the end of the month. Both should give us a pretty good start on acquiring baby gear. My goal for September is to make some real headway on sewing cloth diapers and making a diaper bag. I've got everything mapped out in my planner, so hopefully I can keep up with my own production schedule.
I've been doing a pretty good job of keeping up with daily yoga, and I plan to continue that habit this month. It feels so good just to concentrate on stretching for at least 20 minutes a day, and I know it's in my best interest to keep working on building up muscle in my legs.
I'm participating in 30 Days of Lists this month, and doing my best to keep up with a fun planner-related daily photo challenge. The planner photo challenge is giving me loads of ideas for the DIY 2014 planner I'm planning.
And I'm super looking forward to participating in ALT for Everyone at the end of the month. I wish there were more online conferences! (If you know of any, link me up!)
Finally, I hope to finish a book this month. I always read before bed but lately I've been losing interest in whatever I'm reading about halfway through.
What are you planning for September?
My plans include:
Possibly have some babies toward the end of the month (not officially due until October, but twins usually come early)
Rest before said babies get here
Stock up my freezer a bit with nutritious food for after babies get here
Also, I feel you on the no waist and getting out of bed thing. I literally have to lay there for a minute before I muster up the courage to try to get up. Sometimes it doesn't happen and I require a second try. Talk about awkward.
